    Title: Group Facilitator - Office of Community Corrections - Berkshire County

    Starting Pay: $33.40 hourly

    Notes:
    • This is a part-time position working 27-30 hours per week.
    • This position is funded through an Interdepartmental Services Agreement (ISA) with the Department of Health and Human Services.
    • The pay for this position is $33.40 per hour.

    Position Summary:Working as a contract employee for the Office of Community Corrections (OCC), Berkshire County Intimate Partners Abuse Education Program (IPAEP), the Group Facilitator is responsible for the overall preparation and facilitation of quality IPAEP groups. S/he will display and encourage the character traits of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility in the fulfillment of all job duties. The position is funded through an Interdepartmental Services Agreement (ISA) with the Department of Health and Human Services.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

    Receives direction and supervision from the Program Manager at the Berkshire County Community Justice Support Center.

    MAJOR DUTIES:

    Facilitate IPAEP groups as assigned

    Ensure that all groups are in compliance with approved curriculum

    Ensure that all groups are consistent with DPH, and IPAEP standards, policies and procedures

    Complete client assessments

    Make necessary referrals to outside agencies or departments as needed.

    Participate in scheduled supervision, attend IPAEP and/or OCC meetings as assigned.

    Maintain and file client data and information as assigned

    Complete monthly client report

    Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in counseling/social services or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination or education and experience;

    Experience working with at risk populations is preferred;

    Successful completion of a minimum of 24 hours of DPH-approved IPAEP training

    Observation of at least 6 hours of IPAEP group sessions from a DPH-approved training program

    Successful completion of a domestic violence victim service agency training as defined by MGL. Ch 233, 20K

    Good oral and written presentation skills

    Knowledge of specialized principles, procedures and techniques required by agencies who deliver services for the Office of Community Corrections;

    Working knowledge of court procedures related to probation and/or alternative sentencing and community corrections programs is preferred;

    Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and similar business products;

    Knowledge of and ability to deal effectively with the general public as well as with court agency officials;

    Ability to maintain accurate records; and

    Ability to establish work priorities and to work independently.
