- Support preparation of monthly, annual, and other periodic reports including projecting population impacts for proposed legislation.
- Plan, design, and direct complex research and evaluation projects, including determining sources for obtaining data in support of these tasks.
- Oversee reporting of agency data to external agencies (e.g., BJS), present outcomes of analysis, and interpret implications for policy and practice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Correspond with users and providers of data to coordinate, manage, and improve data quality and program efficacy.
- Write programs using SQL-based logic to extract data from agency databases using knowledge of the various subsystems and databases that support departmental operations and initiatives; link records across databases to create new and unique analytical and practical data sources.
- Prepare detailed reports using tables, charts, and narratives using advanced statistical knowledge that includes proficiency with regression, machine-learning, and qualitative analysis techniques.
- Formulate administrative and research policies for the unit.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in performance of responsibilities; receive general administrative direction and feedback on conformance of projects and products to broad agency objectives and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 credit hours in statistics or data analytics.
Ø Transcripts are required.
Five years of experience utilizing large relational administrative databases.
Ø Advanced education may be used as a substitute in applicable situations.
Two years of experience with WebFocus, SQL, and/or Python programming languages.
Ø Demonstrated ability to apply experience with similar software may substitute.
- Experience in a supervisory or senior analyst role.
- Knowledge of R, Tableau or similar statistical software.
- Basic operation of the criminal justice system and general knowledge of data elements used in the field of corrections
- Familiarity with data collected by the Missouri Department of Corrections.
- Familiarity with computer systems utilized by the Missouri Department of Corrections (e.g., OPII, MoCIS, SAMII).

- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
