Probation Department is recruiting a well organized, innovative, adaptable leader to be a part of the Food Service Department as a
Food Services Supervisor II who will plan, organize, coordinate and supervise through subordinate supervisors' activities and staff involved in a variety of food service operations. Duties include the following: Plans, directs, reviews, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinate supervisors and staff; hires staff; writes and signs performance evaluations; and assists with the direction, supervision, and daily operations of the food service department

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Background: Prior to appointment, applicants will be fingerprinted and must pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony.
Shift: Applicants must be available for all shifts; incumbents will be required to work rotating shifts, or be on call for work, on weekends, holidays, and evenings, including mandatory overtime; refusal of assigned shift may result in removal from the list or termination.
Certifications: Incumbents must obtain a Servsafe Certificate within two (2) weeks of appointment and a Dietetic Aide Certificate from an accredited college within two (2) years, or be terminated.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum RequirementsExperience: Two (2) years of full-time supervisory institutional (e.g., correctional facility, school district, hospital) or large banquet (e.g., casino, hotel, etc.) food preparation and service experience which includes one (1) year of fiscal record keeping and participation in budget preparation.
Desired QualificationsCollege level coursework nutrition, experience in school lunch programs, and experience as a registered dietician, dietary technician, or dietary assistant is highly desirable.
