    San Bernardino County Human Resources is recruiting for Human Resources Technicians , who perform technical and analytical duties and functions in support of a variety of human resources programs, units, and teams within the County Human Resources Department.

    Human Resources Technicians will be responsible for non-routine administrative support work requiring substantial knowledge of complex human resources programs, transactions, processes, and procedures within the County Human Resources Department. Assignments involve a wide variety of complex and specialized human resources programs and services, requiring advanced knowledge/skills of human resources, process, procedures, and systems involved with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and the development and maintenance of human resources services and programs.

    The resulting eligible list will be used to fill vacancies as they occur throughout Human Resources. The current vacancy exists in the Employee Benefits Services Division and will be responsible for:
    • Supporting the administration and maintenance of employee benefits programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
    • Assisting employees with benefits enrollment, eligibility questions, and claims processes, delivering excellent customer service.
    • Performing accurate data entry and updating employee benefits information in HR systems and databases.
    • Responding promptly to employee inquiries about health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, escalating complex issues to senior HR staff as needed.
    • Maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive employee information and benefits records.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    This position offers full benefits and a c ompetitive salary

    up to $63,315.20 Annually

    3% Annual Across the Board Salary Increases in 2026*
    Bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to Step 16

    Minimum Requirements

    Candidates must meet one of the following options:

    Option 1: One (1) year of full-time work experience with primary responsibility for performing a wide variety of specialized clerical duties in support of Human Resources or Personnel functions.

    -OR-

    Option 2: Two (2) years of full-time work experience performing a wide variety of specialized office clerical duties, which are non-routine in nature and require independent decision making.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess an Associates degree or higher, and experience supporting human resources functions; have strong technical skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, EMACS (PeopleSoft) HRIS, and applicant tracking systems.
