Semi-Monthly Salary DAYS OFF HOURS LPNNursing$2,679.94 + $2.00/hour shift differential for Teams II and IIIAlternating Mon/Thur and every other weekend.2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.This is a licensed practical nurse (LPN) position accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments; taking vital signs; assisting with care plan activities; observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors; and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. LPNs oversee the work of nursing assistants; communicate with doctors, patients, and families; and educate patients on care. May transport clients to offsite appointments and apply restraints when necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Provides bedside care, including feeding, gavage, bathing, bed making, ambulation, and oral hygiene; takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, etc.
- Observes patients to detect deviations from normal conditions; records and reports signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
- Performs a variety of nursing duties including special decubitus care, tracheal care, oral and nasal tracheal suctioning, change of dressings, oxygen and aerosol therapy, catheterizations, bladder irrigations and instillation, douches, etc.
- Ability to perform a variety of advanced practical nursing duties.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to keep records and make reports.
- Able to perform all essential job functions within 2 weeks of being offered this position.
- Ability to work as a team member.
Additional Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of current nursing theory, practices, and techniques. Skill in applying practical nursing principles in the care of persons with physical or mental illness, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or the geriatric population. Ability to work assigned schedule which may include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or required overtime.

DMH employees who have had disciplinary actions within the past 6 months will not be considered. To promote to this position you should be free of discipline for twelve months.
