    Job Location: This position will be located at 1390 Timberlake Manor Parkway, Chesterfield MO 63017.

    To assure the health, safety, growth, and development of Missouri’s children through a regulatory process to prevent injury, risk, or harm to dependent children in out-of-home child care settings.

    • Responsible for the supervision of team members assigned to the Child Care Compliance section.
    • Responsible for the development and implementation of regional policies and procedures.
    • Review and explain state laws and regulations to regional staff and stakeholders.
    • Understand and apply federal laws, regulations, and guidance, as applicable for all child care facilities.
    • Collaborate with others within the Office of Childhood and across other regional offices to ensure consistency of inspection/investigation processes statewide.
    • Responsible for the development and oversight of any rules and regulations affecting child care facilities.
    • Oversee professional development training needs for regional staff.
    • Coordinate stakeholder engagement opportunities to provide technical assistance, regulatory training, and informational meetings.
    • Promote equitable access to child care facilities and providing onsite technical assistance opportunities.
    • Promote the use and access of resource and referral networks contracted by the Office of Childhood.
    • Oversee caseload statistics of regional staff and manage approval and assessment of child care facilities.
    • Assist the Program Manager with the development of policy and procedure manuals.
    • Assist with reviewing the program’s effectiveness and recommending changes to ensure programs meet requirements in statute and regulations as identified by the Office Administrators and/or Program Managers.
    • Keep up-to-date with important projects and key activities occurring in the Office of Childhood.
    • Develop and maintain successful relationships with staff in the Office of Childhood.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in elementary or early education, sociology, psychology, child development, social work, or a closely related field , or other related area; and two or more years of professional or technical experience in child care licensing, elementary or early childhood education, social services for children, or experience in the provision of child care in a licensed family or group child care home, or a licensed or license exempt child care center.


    OR

    • Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 6 earned credit hours in elementary or early education, sociology, psychology, child development, social work, or a closely related field , or other related area; and four or more years of professional or technical experience in elementary or early childhood education, social services for children, or experience in the provision of child care in a licensed family or group child care home, or a licensed or license exempt child care center.


    OR

    • Five or more years of professional or technical experience in child care licensing, elementary or early childhood education, social services for children, or experience in the provision of child care in a licensed family or group child care home, or a licensed or license exempt child care center and possession of a high school diploma or high school equivalency.
