Deputy Director to transform our workforce through advanced technologies, projects, and initiatives. The Deputy Director will lead our human capital management (HCM) solution project and drive the modernization of our HR technology. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in human resources, project management, and HCM systems. This role demands exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure the project's successful delivery within scope, on schedule, and within budget.
Fundamental responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the County's Human Capital Management Solution Modernization Engagement.
- Manage start-to-finish project lifecycles, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting progress to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute strategic HR projects that align with organizational goals.
- Analyze current HR processes and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
- Coordinate with multiple teams, including IT, HR, and external vendors, to ensure project success.
- Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for new programs and initiatives that support efficiency and modernization.
- Develop training materials and resources to support the implementation of new systems and processes.
- Evaluate project outcomes, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
*Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide 2011 Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.
OUTSTANDING SALARY AND BENEFITS The County offers a generous benefit package which includes a competitive salary commensurate with experience within the designated salary range of
84C: $142,958.40 - $205,150.40 Annually, plus an anticipated 3% annual across the board salary increase February 2026.

Minimum RequirementsIn order to be successful, this position requires an extensive and broad range of public sector human resources administrative experience, which includes:
• Four (4) years of supervisory and/or management level experience in a public sector environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in human resources management, public or business administration, industrial/organizational psychology, or a related field.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be a problem solver with a strong customer service focus and exceptional verbal and written communication skills; will have excellent planning and organizing skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments and/or projects; and will be able to work effectively with others, both internally and externally, at various levels in the organization.
An MPA or MBA or related advance degree is highly desirable.
Experience with HCM systems such as Oracle, Workday, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
