Custodial Assistant

Job Location: This position will be located at Rolla Satellite Office at 105 Fairgrounds Road, Rolla, MO.

Role Description:

This position is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of the Rolla Satellite Office.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Operates power equipment: vacuum, buffer, washer, and dryer in performance of assigned duties.
• Performs the following tasks:
  • Empty wastebaskets, other debris, and changes liners daily.
  • Place the tied bags in a closet dumpster and properly recycles recyclables.
  • Dust, mop, and wet mop tiled floors daily.
  • Dust and polish furniture, file cabinets, window ledges, mirrors and other fixtures daily.
  • Cleans and disinfects sinks, stools, and other fixtures daily.
  • Cleans and polishes drinking fountains daily.
  • Stocks restrooms and kitchen with towels, tissue and soap as needed.
  • Keeps cleaning cart supplied with soap, toilet cleaner, towels and other supplies.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of fleet vehicles on a routine basis.
  • Waxing floors on a routine basis.
• Coordinates custodial coverage with supervisor for planned absence.
• Cleans contaminated areas using such protective clothing, devices and agents as designated. Utilize Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Reports any unsafe conditions and takes steps within their ability to correct.

• Knowledge, skills & abilities

• Introductory knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in housekeeping work. A bility to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to perform a variety of routine manual tasks requiring the exertion of physical strength in the care, cleaning, and general maintenance of a building and equipment. Reports for scheduled work shift with regular, reliable and punctual attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 0 to 1 year of experience (substitutions may be allowed)
