The JobSan Bernardino County is recruiting for
Supervising Systems Accountants who supervise Systems Accountants that design, revise, and maintain accounting systems, procedures and work methods for departments . Essential duties include assisting departments in identifying, defining, and analyzing accounting and financial problems; developing and recommending a variety of departmental accounting systems; preparing procedures for and instructing departments in the implementation of new or modified systems; evaluating the feasibility of accounting systems; and coordinating the conversion of existing systems and procedures.
Current vacancy exists at the
Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector (ATC) office. The resulting eligible list may also be used to fill future vacancies throughout the County as they occur.

Minimum Requirements CANDIDATES MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION Must possess a bachelor's degree in
accounting, finance, business administration, economics OR a bachelor's degree in another field which
must include 30 semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in
accounting . (Transcripts with qualifying coursework is required if degree is in another field.)
EXPERIENCE Must possess five (5) years of professional-level accounting experience
analyzing, designing, implementing, and/or maintaining computerized accounting systems . Experience must include documenting business requirements, functionality, systems controls, issues, procedures, and/or end-user training materials . Relevant accounting experience must have been obtained within the last five (5) years. (
Note: Experience as an end-user of accounting systems is not considered qualifying.)
SUPERVISORY/LEAD EXPERIENCE Must possess one (1) year of
full-scope supervisory duties
OR two (2) years of lead experience.

professional-level accounting experience analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining accounting systems ; procedures; maintaining system security and workflow; maintaining master data; developing training materials; implementing modules or enhancements to existing accounting systems, as well as strong oral and written communication skills enabling them to communicate and translate complex technical accounting system topics in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to understand system security measures required to help protect or prevent fraud or collusion while ensuring segregation of duties and improving internal efficiencies.
Ability to troubleshoot system issues and design and/or script temporary or permanent solutions to ongoing system errors or workflow issues.
Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards as they are applied and/or integrated into an automated financial system is highly desirable.
