If so, our team may be the place for you. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in health data informatics, data management, and/or health information analysis. This position will be responsible for assisting with Missouri’s public health response efforts by providing support to Local Public Health Agencies (LPHAs), hospitals, laboratories and other health care providers with respect to their reporting needs to Missouri’s electronic disease surveillance system, ShowMe WorldCare. This position will help assist with the transition from manual to electronis entry of laboratory results, case reports, and other reportable information into ShowMe WorldCare and other critical public health systems throughout DHSS.
- Provide support for the implementation and maintenance of the ShowMe WorldCare surveillance system for reportable conditions.
- Monitor incoming electronic messages to ensure there are no technical issues with ingestion.
- Assist with onboarding new reporters and configuring the system to accept messages from new reporters.
- Perform quality assurance checks and data cleaning, testing/validating/deploying system enhancements or maintenance upgrades.
- Assist with the design of new reportable conditions to be managed within the ShowMe WorldCare system.
- Providing training/support to end users of various public health surveillance systems.
- Collaborate with program staff, informatics staff, vendors, providers, ITSD staff, and other stakeholders on informatics projects.
- Collaborate with program staff, informatics staff, ITSD, contractors, and other stakeholders on projects to advance data systems to meet national standards for interoperability and data modernization.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant technical and/or informatics experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Knowledge of statistical software (R, SPSS, SAS, Python, etc.) and ability to effectively use data querying tools
