Our program provides nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and support, supplemental food and referrals to health care to 95,000 participants served by 116 local agencies across the state. This position supports the WIC program's fiscal operations by assisting local agency staff in understanding how to invoice monthly claims and reviewing and processing monthly claims through our WebGrants system. The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but flexible scheduling may be considered.
- Serve as a liaison to WIC local agencies to ensure all claims and payments are processed and documented correctly, on time and within state and federal guidelines.
- Provide back-up support to WIC state agency technical assistant staff for financial monitoring of WIC local agencies.
- Conduct virtual and in-person training to WIC local agency staff on claims processes.
- Assist WIC local agencies with budget amendments and route to appropriate staff for processing.
- Run monthly budget reports, review reports for accuracy and reconcile WIC local agency expenditures.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and two or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
- Exercise initiative when given administrative guidance and direction to complete projects and tasks with minimal oversight.
- Think critically to solve problems and complete tasks efficiently.
- Prior experience in developing and providing training, preferred.
- Develop positive business relationships and communicate professionally and effectively verbally and in writing.
- Prior experience with Microsoft applications. Extensive experience with Excel is preferred.
- Reliable work attendance is essential for success.
