Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
- Compose and type letters, memorandums, State Board materials, and reports on technical subjects, and proofreads correspondence and reports. May research and prepare information.
- Arrange appointments, makes travel arrangements, maintain Assistant Commissioner's appointment calendar. Act as the receptionist in the Assistant Commissioner's office, answer, place telephone calls, and handle web replies for the Office.
- Prepare and review the processing of a variety of fiscal, payroll, personnel memorandums; compile and maintain appropriate division employee records.
- Maintain records of itineraries, employees' attendance, leave usage reports, and take appropriate action based on department personnel policies and procedures.
- Provide information to the public and employees on a variety of matters related to departmental operations and policies.
- Prepare and distribute communications to appropriate staff members and convey requests and general information from the Assistant Commissioner to various organizational units, including coordinating communications.
- Process, track and review the budget for Office of Educator Quality including revolving fund, general revenue, Title I and II funds, and grant funds. Reconcile expenditures to budget in order to ensure allocations not exceeded. Process invoices, payments, and requests and prepare monthly reports on deposits and expenditures.
- Coordinate the clerical unit on special work assignments, conferences and mailings and may supervise and train support staff personnel.
- Develop the filing system and maintains the files of the Assistant Commissioner’s office.
- Perform related work as assigned by the Assistant Commissioner and Commissioner.
- Travel to meeting locations to set up and assist with meeting and/or take minutes.

Minimum Qualifications: - Graduation from high school.
- Three years of progressively responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative work .
