Why you’ll love this position:OA ITSD Operations Desktop Services is seeking a skilled Systems Administration Specialist for a role that encompasses various aspects of endpoint management and support. This position includes automated software packaging, deployment, and installation. Security update deployments, operating system deployments, endpoint encryption, software approvals, reporting using SSRS, and using MCM/Intune. Respond to requests to assist in troubleshooting technical issues, supporting other technicians, and participating in long-term projects in both individual and team settings. A person in this position will assist in setting direction for future advancement in endpoint management technologies.
This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Enterprise IT Operations (EIT).

- Identify security vulnerabilities.
- Review and approve security updates from Microsoft, package and test updates before statewide deployment and troubleshoot issues that occur with update installations.
- Write custom scripts to install applications, make changes to installations and data collection.
- Write, evaluate, and/or edit reports and queries using SQL and SSRS.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Provide advanced (Tier 3) level support to other IT functional areas.
- Deploy software with Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM) using automation and distribution tools.
- Troubleshoot any performance and/or deployment issues within MCM.
- Create, test, maintain, and deploy OS image(s), maintain device drivers, and modify complex task sequences.
- Learn and develop new skills through various training opportunities.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills with in-depth knowledge of Windows OS. All troubleshooting would occur remotely, without physical contact with devices.
- Strong working knowledge and experience of endpoint management with an emphasis in Microsoft Configuration Manager (formerly MECM, SCCM, SMS) and Microsoft Intune.
- Strong background using PowerShell or other comparable scripting tools.
- Knowledge and experience with Active Directory and GPO's.
- Knowledge and experience with using SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team mentoring abilities.
- Associate's or BS in Computer Science or a similar field, or sufficient comparable relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
