The Department of Social Services - Children’s Division cares for at-risk children and families by providing family preservation and reunification services, investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, and conducting foster care and adoption case management.     What you’ll do:

    • Directs or assists in the overall planning, development and administration of the Central Consult Unit and Alternative Care Set-Up Unit.
    • Assists in the reviews and/or revision of programs in area of responsibility to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, plans, and procedures.
    • Oversees the review of case records of assigned staff to ensure that work is performed, and services are delivered in accordance with agency guidelines and policy.
    • Supervises and monitors operations throughout the entire state.
    • Directs or assists administrative staff in general management, policy development, program planning, and/or coordinates assigned responsibilities


    Minimum Qualifications :

    • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent and Eight or more years of professional experience in protective services for children; treatment and education of adjudicated juveniles; juvenile delinquency prevention programs; or resource, financial or legal investigations, and possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.


    OR

    • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and Four or more years of professional experience in protective services for children; treatment and education of adjudicated juveniles; juvenile delinquency prevention programs; or resource, financial or legal investigations, and possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.


    ( A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral sciences, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for up to two years of the stated experience.)

    (A combination of earned credit hours from an accredited college or university in the preferred fields such as social work, family and child development, special education, psychology, sociology, or related behavioral sciences and experience described may substitute for the stated qualifications. 30 credit hours are equivalent to 1 year of experience. Professional experience as described must be of a substantial period of time (over 50% of time)).
