Lead Office Specialists that perform the most complex assignments and/or act as a lead worker in a unit directing workflow, auditing, and reporting for a small staff. Duties may include assigning work to staff, counseling and advising on complex policies and procedures, preparing and maintaining detailed documents (reports, queries, financial, etc.), and monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulations.

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District and Special Districts Positions: The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District are separate entities from the County of San Bernardino, and as such, compensation and benefits for their positions are set forth in a different compensation plan. The salary for Lead Office Specialist (Fire) is $22.80 - $31.44 hourly. For additional details, refer to the Fire Auxiliary Services Benefits Summary .
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.
- Travel: T ravel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
- Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum RequirementsExperience: Two and a half (2.5) years full-time experience performing complex clerical tasks in an office environment which are non-routine in nature and required independent decision making. Experience must be clearly described on the application and must include performing a variety of complex clerical tasks including public contact, computer usage, and detail non-routine duties.
Note: Office Assistance II , r etail sales, and food service experience is NOT considered qualifying.
Desired QualificationsSpecialized Experience: Some positions may require specialized experience. You must complete the appropriate portion of the Supplemental Questionnaire in order to be considered.
Typing/keyboarding skills are highly desirable; indicate your corrected typing speed on the Supplemental Questionnaire.
