Why you’ll love this position:This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) Office of Cyber Security (OCS). You will be assisting the Active Directory Team in supporting, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and various security-related services. This will encompass supporting agencies under the Executive Branch of State government along with assisting many other State agencies in securing their IT environments.

- Resolves and completes assigned cases and change requests.
- Apply new solutions through research and collaboration with the whole OCS team.

- Monitors for industry changes in best security practices and develops plans to apply those practices to the States security environment.
- Follows documented procedures, processes, plans, and guidelines.
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of the Domain Controllers and related security services the team manages.
- Installs, performs upgrades, and maintains related software and hardware to support the services the team manages.
- Novice knowledge in Active Directory Systems Administration in a multi-domain, multi-forest design.
- Novice experience in Windows Server and related Windows systems.
- Fundamental knowledge in LDAP and Kerberos.
- Novice knowledge of IT security principles and security hardening practices.
- Fundamental ability to script Active Directory automation with PowerShell.
- Fundamental knowledge in designing and maintaining an enterprise DNS architecture.
- Fundamental knowledge of DHCP, network routing, Exchange, switching, TCP/IP addressing design, and troubleshooting.
- On-Call capabilities will be required after a training period.
- Intermittent overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree and 0-1 years of IT experience with an emphasis on Active Directory administration and operating systems support is preferred. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
