This recruitment is only open to current San Bernardino County, San Bernardino County Fire Protection District or Special Districts employees who hold a regular, contract, extra-help, recurrent, Public Service Employee, Work Experience Program (WEX) or intern position.
Your County employment must be clearly listed in the work experience section of your application.
The Department of Public Health (DPH), Environmental Health Services is recruiting for Public Service Employees (PSE). These position include entry level duties which will support efforts in Pool Aid and Vector Control services. PSE duties are commensurate with the responsibilities of the temporary assignment in which they have been assigned.
Note: These are recurrent, non-regular, limited duration positions classified as a Public Service Employee (PSE) . The successful candidate shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment, and will not attain regular status.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.
Employment Status: This position is extra-help, and incumbent does not attain status as regular County employee. Although this position is of limited duration and temporary in nature, assignments may be up to twelve (12) months. This position will participate in the County's Deferred Compensation Plan and does not earn any other benefits.
Visa Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require Visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: Six (6) months of paid work experience. Duties should include a variety of tasks, including, public service contact (in-person, via telephone, and/or online support), computer usage, typing, filing, answering the telephone and data entry.
-AND-- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
Bilingual Skills (Spanish/English) is highly desirable.
