Job Description
This position is located at Bellefontaine Habilitation Center, 10695 Bellefontaine Rd., Saint Louis, MO 63137. This is a first shift position. You will have rotating weekends off. This position consists of advanced practical nursing work in the care and treatment of our consumers with developmental disabilities under the general direction of a registered professional nurse.
You will be working with staff who enjoy caring for others and want to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by a mental illness or developmental disability. You can make a difference in the lives of our consumers, so they too have the opportunity to pursue their dreams, live their lives to the fullest, and be a valued member of their community.
This is a licensed practical nurse (LPN) position accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments; taking vital signs; assisting with care plan activities; observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors; and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. LPNs oversee the work of nursing assistants; communicate with doctors, patients, and families; and educate patients on care. May transport clients to offsite appointments and apply restraints when necessary.
A successful candidate must possess a current license as a practical nurse in Missouri.
