Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector (ATC) is recruiting for
Office Specialists for the Tax Collector andRevenue Recovery divisions.
For Office Specialists assigned to
Tax Collector, training will include learning to interpret and apply Revenue and Taxation code, calculate taxes due including penalties, interest, and fees when applicable. Additionally, incumbents will process Mobile Home applications, Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT), and the issuing and releasing of Liens. Incumbents provide excellent customer service in a fast paced, high production environment in order to serve the public by processing, safeguarding, and providing information to the public of San Bernardino County.
Office Specialistsassigned to
Revenue Recovery will perform administrative and clerical support work involving a variety of complex and specialized departmental programs and services, including preparing, reviewing, filing, and processing a high volume of legal documents for court collections, and billing documents and other correspondence for medical collections.

Minimum Requirements CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENT: EXPERIENCE Must possess two (2) years of full-time equivalent work experience performing complex clerical tasks in an office environment. Experience may be comparable to duties performed by a clerical lead worker and/or supervisor, fiscal assistant, or other office work which is non-routine in nature and requires exercising independent decision making
relevant to duties performed for related tax collection and revenue recovery processes.
All work experience must be clearly detailed and demonstrated on the application AND supplemental questionnaire to ensure qualifications are properly considered (resumes are not reviewed). All information must be current and up to date. Desired QualificationsExperience using computer applications and in the skill areas listed on the Supplemental Questionnaire are highly desirable.
