This position will be located at Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65101
Duration of Assignment: May through August.
- Evaluate and compare different wastewater technology’s ammonia and nutrient removal performances.
- Compile design criteria of existing wastewater treatment facilities that utilize innovative technologies
- Evaluate cost information for construction projects.
- Technology research for treatment options and methods for emerging pollutants of concerns, including, but not limited to, per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), metals, pharmaceuticals, etc.
- Provide research and support for rulemaking processes.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Engineering Major
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Have completed at least some introductory engineering classes

- Gain knowledge of wastewater treatment design standards.
- Learn how wastewater effluent limits are calculated and established through the antidegradation and NPDES permitting process.
- Gain knowledge about how government agencies function.
