T his position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missouri State Parks, and will be located at Route 66 State Park, 97 N. Outer Road, Suite 1, Eureka, Mo. 63025. Work shifts will vary according to facility demands and will include working a minimum of two weekends per month in the on-season and some holidays in the both the on and off season.
- Position duties serve as the senior level manager for the Lower Meramec Management Unit.
- Supervise, train, guide, lead, evaluate and mentor the staff at the facility and within the unit.
- Effectively and proficiently deal with personnel actions across the unit at all levels.
- Ensure the buildings and grounds throughout the unit are properly maintained and operational.
- Steward the cultural resources at the facility and within the unit ensuring that they are preserved and protected.
- Oversee the administrative operation of the facility and the unit which includes revenues, accounts payable, budget management, monthly reporting and both internal and external stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure all the facilities within the unit are in compliance with all applicable laws, policies and procedures and permits.
- Oversight within the unit could include visitor service operations, campground management heavily used day use area management and retail sales management.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can include: Park Management, Parks and Recreation, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Botany, Biology, Natural Sciences, Business of Public Administration or related field AND 5 or more years of management, supervision and participation in interpretation, preservation, protection, maintenance and enhancement of state parks and historic sites . ( Substitutions for additional education or experience may be allowed )
- Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.

- Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts
- Available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays
- Must be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions and have the ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to provide leadership and supervision to staff with emphasis on interpersonal skills and professionalism
