    Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109. But, may be relocated to another location in or near the position's service area with the mutual agreement of the Department and the applicant. This position is eligible for full-time remote work after successful onboarding.

As a Public Health Program Specialist for the Missouri WIC Program, you will be directly involved in providing technical assistance and support to 116 WIC local agencies in the state and more specifically, to 28 local agencies in northwest Missouri. The northwest district includes the counties of Atchison, Nodaway, Worth, Gentry, Harrison, Mercer, Grundy, Daviess, DeKalb, Andrew, Holt, Buchanan, Clinton, Caldwell, Livingston, Carroll, Ray, Clay, Platte, Jackson, Lafayette, Saline, Pettis, Johnson, Cass, Bates, and Henry

    This position is eligible for eligible for full-time remote work in or near the position's service area after a successful onboarding period. Regular instate travel with overnights and some occasional out of state travel is required. Flexible scheduling may be considered.

    • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to 28 assigned WIC local agencies in northwest Missouri.
    • Conduct approximately 15 assigned local agency on-site management evaluations yearly to ensure WIC program compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, and the WIC local agency scope of work.
    • Review and approve corrective action plans (CAP) and CAP progress reports when findings are identified during a management evaluation.
    • Review and exercise approval authority for purchases and expenses for annual local agency plans (LAPs).
    • Assess program compliance and effectiveness through review of data from Crystal Reports.
    • Utilize the Missouri WIC Information Network System (MOWINS) to analyze compliance with the WIC program.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
    • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
    • A valid drivers license.
