    • The office for this position is located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO. 65101.

Work as part of a team to effectively analyze, troubleshoot, develop, test, document, and debug as you translate requirements into design, and develop code that adheres to current coding standards and technologies.

    This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Corrections (DOC).

    • Develop and maintain applications using a variety of languages, including but not limited to Java J2EE, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Ant, supporting MO DOC.
    • Develop and maintain SQL queries and system databases, relationships, indexes, views, tables and fields.
    • Analyze, solve, and correct production issues and provide documentation.
    • Develop and support complex queries and support stored procedures.
    • Communicate with business users to establish database and report requirements.
    • Analyze, design, develop, peer review, test and implement code for new projects and ongoing maintenance efforts.
    • Create, adhere to and enforce technical standards, including secure coding standards.
    • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues and requests.
    • Work independently and as part of a team.
    • Write and update technical specifications.
    • Continuous learning (technical and professional development).


    Knowledge of, or ability to learn, one or more of these languages and technologies:

    • Java (J2EE, Struts, WebSphere, DB2 LUW, JSPs, JSFs, EJBs).
    • IBM Rational Application Developer Tool (IBM RAD).
    • XML, Eclipse, MVC, SQL, MS SQL
    • SQL Server (database design, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers).
    • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
    • JavaScript and various frameworks, specifically jQuery, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Data Interchange, Bootstrap.
    • Design and layout using HTML and CSS, configurations, application security, and knowledge of source control fundamentals.
    • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
