Auditor within the
Institutional Reimbursement Unit (IRU) located in
Cole County. Semi-monthly salary: $2,322.31
Job Location: This position is located at the
Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.

IRU oversees the Medicaid reimbursement for institutional healthcare providers which includes nursing facilities and clinics. IRU reimburses these Medicaid providers for healthcare services they provide to Medicaid participants. This Auditor position is in the clinic section of IRU. You will work in a small cohesive unit alongside other helpful team members in many different sections of the MO HealthNet Division and the Department of Social Services as well as other State agencies. Flextime is a possibility with this position.
• Review cost reports submitted by providers by analyzing for reasonableness and accuracy, researching issues, and adjusting as necessary based on established policies and procedures to determine Medicaid allowable cost used in calculating final cost settlements.
- Assist with determining and processing payments to reimburse clinics for providing healthcare services to MO HealthNet participants.
- Read and apply regulations, policies, and technical guidance in order to perform essential duties.
- Work with providers and their agents by phone, email, fax, etc. to collect information and answer questions while continuing to establish and maintain a friendly, positive rapport.
- Assist team members and perform other projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications:• A minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Work independently and be able to contribute to the team.
• Good analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Be well organized and keep track of duties and projects to bring to a successful closure.
• Maintain effective working relationships with State agency co-workers, providers/provider’s accountants, and other parties requiring information or assistance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to relay information to providers, MHD team, and others.
