As a Database Supervisor reporting to the State Data Center’s Database Manager. You will supervise teams supporting some of the State of Missouri’s largest databases in Cloud and on-prem in both distributed and Mainframe environments. This position will work with the database manager to maintain and move forward current and new database services. You will be responsible for tracking budget items & key measures, closely monitoring project deliverables and deadlines, working with the vendor community, and coordinating with various IT sections within our consolidated environment. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.This position is with the Office of Administration - State Data Center providing support to many of the State of Missouri agencies who depend on our services to maintain and improve their day-to-day business operations for our citizens.
This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the State Data Center (SDC).

- Plan and manage, a variety of projects from start to finish and provide on-going support using your project management skill set and tools.
- Communicate project status to leadership, staff, and partners. Work effectively with IT customers throughout our consolidated and non-consolidated agencies.
- • Works with the management team to develop and maintain budget your section’s budget.
- Manage the team, balance workload, determine staffing needs, knowledge, and skills to maintain or grow section, create training & development plans for employees, ensure successful completion of plans and cross-train team to ensure success.
- Coordinates development of policies, procedures, standards and best practices, coordinates input regarding the need for new technical, functional, or operational products or services and works with division to incorporate into strategic plans.
- Perform supervisor responsibilities in a manner consistent with the department’s policies and other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in Information Technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with General Database concepts and architecture.
- Experience leading a team, projects, or supervisor experience.
- Excellent communication, planning, time management, organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead a team, provide direction and take forward-thinking initiative.
- Ability to collaborate with varying levels of professional staff, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, best practices, and techniques.
- Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
