Higginsville Habilitation Center is recruiting for a Supervising Support Care Assistant, to be a part of a highly effective team, that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. HHC is a state operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports individuals receiving 24/7 services.
This is a supervisory direct care position accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments; taking vital signs, assisting with care plan activities; observing and reporting client conditions and behaviors; and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. Oversees work of other support staff. Communicates with doctors, clients, and families, and educates clients on care. May provide transport to offsite appointments and application of restraints, when necessary. May perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Prepare weekly schedules and process leave requests
- Arrange staff for adequate coverage for all areas to the Unit and ensure minimum coverage requirements are met
- Work in coverage as needed
- Prepare and administer performance appraisals, logs and summaries to assigned employees
- Maintain medication certification and pass medications as necessary
- Follow facility policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:2-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed for relevant experience.)
