This position will be located at Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Lewis and Clark State Office Building located at 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
- Responsible for data entry into the Missouri Clean Water Information System (MoCWIS) for all permit applications as they come in. Applications may be received via email or mail. All applications are scanned, saved appropriately, entered, and assigned to the appropriate team members.
- Administratively process public notices for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Missouri State Operating Permits (MSOP). Enter data into MOCWIS, which requires knowledge of specialized technical water pollution program information related to the Missouri Clean Water Law and Federal Clean Water Act.
- Work independently to administratively finalize the MSOP and NPDES permit documents, including permit fact sheets in preparation for the permit to be mailed and uploaded to the web for public review.
- Create a public notice packet, which includes the permit, factsheet, and letter which explains the permit action. Permit action letters are not auto generated and must be reviewed for accuracy. Permit action letters are sent to the permittee, post office, and city clerk based upon the location of the permitted discharge. Prepare documents to be uploaded to the website for the weekly Final Public Notice List. This list is sent to Missouri Clean Water stakeholders, Missouri Department of Natural Resources team members, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as well as posted to the internet.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the Final Public Notice List.
- In conducting the administrative tasks associated with permit public notices, must use independent judgment, and follow established state and federal procedures.
- Distribute mail, postcards, and helping with mass mailings.
- Other duties as assigned.
