    Title IX Officer and Director of Human Resources Equity and Diversity Policies and Procedures

    California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator II position.

    The Position : Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Vice President, Human Resources Management, and reporting to the President, the incumbent has responsibility for the administration of the University's Equal Opportunity Office and Title IX. Reviews and monitors Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures. Ensures compliance with federal and state laws; brings any inconsistencies to the attention of the Senior Associate VP /HRM and makes recommendations as to how to correct any inequities that might be found. Will supervise the EEO /Title IX Staff and will serve as the Title IX compliance officer.

    Required Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in human resources management, public administration, business administration, or a related field. Three to five years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in human resources management, including significant experience handling various types of investigations within human resources. General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational management. General knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management. Working knowledge of equity and diversity programs and related federal and state laws. Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills. Ability to demonstrate a positive, proactive approach to problem-solving, EEO and Title IX matters and provide strong support to the University's management and staff. Ability to gather and analyze data, conduct investigations, reason logically and draw valid conclusion. Ability to interpret and apply law rules, standards and procedures governing the human resources operations of the campus. Ability to develop and effectively facilitate training programs. Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire a thorough familiarity with the organization and programs of the campus. Ability to work decisively under stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the Offices of the VPDI, A VPFA, Dean of Students, and other campus community offices and members, clearly communicate ideas and recommendations, and write clear and concise reports. Incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

    California State University, Los Angeles, as part of the CSU system, is a State of California Employer.     Desired Qualifications : Experience in a higher education setting. Experience in a bargaining union environment.

    Compensation : Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $5,053 - $16,221/monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range: $12,000 - $15,000/Monthly). A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

    Appointment : The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.

    This position is a "designated position" in the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
