Job Location: This position will be located at the Harry S Truman Building, 301 W High St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

Your work as an Intern with the State of Missouri, Office of Administration (OA) will allow you to network with those in your chosen profession while serving the citizens of Missouri. Our internship with the Division of Facilities Management, Design and Construction’s (FMDC) Interior Design Unit (IDU) offers an opportunity to receive meaningful work experience in the design and construction fields. You will perform entry-level tasks while taking part in skills development activities and projects. The internship schedule is flexible at 20-40 hours per week.
What you’ll do:- Assist IDU team members in the planning, design, and construction phases of various state construction projects
- Use AutoCAD software program to prepare drawings, as directed by IDU staff, to be used in state agency design approval procurement of project estimate and construction
- Independently perform fieldwork verification of existing facility conditions and translate that data (or data/field notes prepared by other IDU staff) into new or updated electronic files and graphical drawings
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or in a technical or vocational college
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software
- The ability to interpret plans and specifications, and understand basic design concepts
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Detail-oriented
Preferred Field(s) of Study- Interior Design
- Design/Drafting
- Architecture/Engineering
