Job Location: This position will be located at the FMDC Maintenance Complex, 1631 Industrial Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109.

Your work as an Intern with the State of Missouri, Office of Administration (OA) will allow you to network with those in your chosen profession while serving the citizens of Missouri. Our internships in the Division of Facilities, Maintenance, Design and Construction (FMDC) offer an opportunity to receive meaningful work experience in the Facilities Management and Operations field. You will perform entry-level tasks while taking part in skills development activities and projects. The internship schedule is flexible at 20-40 hours per week.
What you’ll do:- Assist FMDC Operations Managers and Supervisors in daily operation of landscape and grounds management, restoration, and maintenance in the Central Region
- Assist Grounds Crew with daily maintenance and performing work orders in the Central Region
- Contribute to designing, constructing and maintaining beautiful lawns through planting, fertilization, weed control, insect control, and disease management
- Service and repair irrigation systems, ensuring the health and vitality of our landscapes
- Work with grounds crew to learn techniques in tree and shrub care
- Help create stunning outdoor living spaces that enhance our state-owned properties
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications- Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s degree program, technical college, or vocational college
- Action-oriented and enjoys working with hands-on projects
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills

* This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/ standing/ sitting/ bending, climbing ladders, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., working in inclement weather and working on uneven surfaces.
