    This position will be in the Office of the Director at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri. This position will be involved in the coordination of all fiscal note requests for the entire department. This position will also provide administrative assistance to several attorneys in the General Counsel’s Office.

    • Distribute fiscal note requests to divisions and track responses to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Send draft fiscal note responses to Legislative Liaison for approval and send final response to the Office of Administration, Budget and Planning.
    • Answer questions and provide supplemental information regarding fiscal notes to Budget and Planning, as needed.
    • Provides administrative support to attorneys in the General Counsel Office, including scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, filing expense reports, and finalizing correspondence.
    • Prepares out of state travel requests, following through with making all travel arrangements and itineraries.
    • Composes, proofreads, and prepares memorandums, letters, and reports. Finalize documents for signature and distribution. May research and prepare information.
    • Manages multipurpose purchasing card in accordance with state guidelines and policies.
    • Reviews and submits invoices for payment.
    • Serves as back up to the General Counsel Office Executive Assistant and Custodian of Records, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Computer Skills : Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Oral and Written Communication : Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, consider the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    • Self-Management : Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.
    • Ability to operate in a discreet environment and maintain a certain level of confidentiality.
    • Applicants must have the ability to work long hours during session (January to May), as needed.


    Equivalent to those typically gained by:

    • Four or more years of office or related clerical experience including one year at an advanced level position.
    • Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
    • Knowledge of the legislative process, but not required.
