    BEHAVIORAL TECHNICIAN

    St. Louis Developmental Disabilities Treatment Centers

    Expected Salary: $42,116.46 - Annually/$1754.85 - Semi-monthly

    For Team 2 an additional $2.00/hour Shift Differential

    St. Louis Developmental Disabilities Treatment Centers currently has openings for a Behavioral Technician at South County Habilitation Center. Looking to fill a position for evening shift (2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.) with Wednesdays and Thursdays as regular days off. However, flexibility with working hours (including days and nights) will be necessary.

    Job Duties:

    This is semi-skilled direct care work implementing behavioral interventions for persons with developmental disabilities.

    • Implementing the individual support plan and behavioral support techniques developed by the behavior resource team for consumers potentially requiring more restrictive environments due to their behaviors and/or medical needs.
    • Responding to crisis situations and implement interventions established until behavior is safe.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of standard behavior modification techniques, including receiving an Advanced Skills certificate of the Safety Care program within 1 year of appointment.
    • Ability to work effectively on a team, and to work where needed to fill open spots.
    • Ability to lift clients and assist in performing transfers and basic ADL and use of hands-on skills (dependent care).
    • All training must be up-to-date including CORE, CPR, and First Aid.
    • Able to drive adaptive bus, with training.
    • Must be able to commence performance of the new position duties within five (5) calendar days of acceptance.


    Eligibility Requirements:

    1 year of relevant experience, valid driver’s license and Highschool diploma, transcripts or GED.
