    We are recruiting to fill an Education Supervisor I/II position in our Continuing Education unit to perform advanced professional work in the Continuing Education Unit of the Judicial Education Section. The primary responsibility of this unit is to provide support for the educational programming of nine education committees who are charged with providing programming for court personnel throughout the state of Missouri. Overnight travel is required in the position.

    • Responsible for leading a team, large committees, design teams and process improvement groups from start to finish.
    • Assists with planning and coordination of judicial education training programs by working with staff, committees and with outside vendors, such as hotels and caterers.
    • Responsible for overseeing the educational programming, while working within budget, for nine education committees and providing accurate budget reporting to the Education Manager for each of those committees.
    • Independently manages a specialized program or project where the complexity is reflected by limited direction and scope.
    • Identifies areas that need improvement in regard to efficiency, economy and effectiveness.
    • Supervisory activities are defined as: establishes expectations, checks work product, provides training, conducts performance evaluations, coaches and guides staff, and participates in the hiring and supervision of staff.
    • Position requires the use of general analytical skills and problem-solving techniques.
    • Assists with troubleshooting problems with computer hardware for on-line meetings and training courses.
    • Defines goals, learning objectives and training strategies necessary to provide quality education and training for the judicial staff.
    • Makes recommendations for training sessions and overall program planning and development.
    • Makes recommendations needed for educational directives to carry out the implementation of court training programs.


    Minimum qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or court management and 3 years of professional experience in a related field.

    Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Strong leadership skills are essential to being successful in this position.
    • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with individuals within and outside of

      the judiciary.
    • Ability to collaboration and foster collaboration within team, section, division, across the organization

      and with our court partners.
    • Attention to detail is critical to responsibilities associated with this position.
    • Knowledge of the operations of local and state court systems would be beneficial, but not required.
    • Skills in the use of computer operating systems and software, including but not limited to

      Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Webex.
    • Meeting planning experience is recommended, but not required.
    • Some lifting will be required in assisting with technical equipment needed for educational programming.
