Licensed Clinical Therapists II. Licensed Clinical Therapists II are lead workers who direct a small clinical staff. Typical duties consist of providing clinical and administrative consultation to their staff; screening prospective clients for appropriateness of program services; intervening in crisis situations; auditing and monitoring charts; utilization review; payment authorization; and participating in providing rehabilitative mental health/substance abuse services in clinic, institutional, field, and community settings to clients with severe mental, emotional, and substance abuse disorders.

Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is responsible for providing mental health and substance use disorder services to county residents who are experiencing major mental illness or substance abuse related issues. DBH provides mental health and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services to all age groups, with a primary emphasis on treating children/youth who may be seriously emotionally disturbed, adults who are experiencing a serious and persistent mental illness, and individuals who are experiencing substance use disorders. DBH also provides an array of outreach/engagement, prevention, and early intervention services. DBH's core values are

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background check that will include fingerprint/DOJ LiveScan, DMV check, and medical exam. The m edical exam will include a drug and TB test. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. resident. Some positions may require additional background check processes dependent upon the work location.
Shifts: Some programs offer 24-hour services; some assignments may require employees to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required depending on assignment. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation (mileage reimbursement at current IRS rate is available). At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Differential: Clinical therapists regularly assigned to work in detention facilities receive additional compensation. Indicate your interest and availability for positions assigned to detention facilities on the supplemental questionnaire.

Minimum RequirementsLicense: Must be licensed in the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). A copy of license is required upon appointment. L icensure must be maintained and in good standing.
--AND-- Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience as a
licensed therapist in a mental health or social service setting. Note: The application must clearly distinguish between pre-licensed and post-licensed experience.
Desired QualificationsApplicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
The following experience is highly desirable:- Possesses knowledge of clinical supervisor requirements
- Has completed a minimum of fifteen (15) contact hours in supervision training
- Two (2) or more years of experience providing clinical supervision to Registered Associate MFTs, Registered Associate PCCs, or Registered Associate CSWs or pre-degree clinical interns w ithin the last five (5) years
- One (1) or more years of experience providing clinical or administrative supervision over clinical interns and/or trainees
- Experience in a behavioral health or social service setting in a leadership role either managing a special assignment or providing occasional supervisory coverage
- Interagency collaboration experience
- Education and/or training experience
