The Job
San Bernardino County is recruiting for Supervising Accounting Technicians who supervise a fiscal s upport unit and perform complex paraprofessional accounting work in the maintenance of financial, statistical and fiscal records. Essential duties include assigning, training, and evaluating the work of a fiscal support unit; identifying and resolving problems and determining corrective entries; auditing entries for legality, accuracy, and compliance with established requirements; and searching for, abstracting, and explaining technical data.
A current vacancy exists with the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector (ATC) office. The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and may be used for future vacancies as they occur throughout the County.

Minimum Requirements
REQUIRED:
EXPERIENCE
Must possess three (3) years of (full-time equivalent) experience where the primary responsibility is performing accounting duties and fiscal clerical work in support of accounting functions.
Note: Cash handling for retail sales/food service is NOT considered qualifying.
EDUCATION
Must possess eight (8) semester (12 quarter) units of completed college accounting coursework. (Transcripts must be submitted if you do not possess an Associate degree or higher.)
SUBSTITUTION
One additional year of qualifying experience as noted above may substitute for the educational requirement.

EDUCATION
Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, leadership and time management skills, a college degree in accounting, possess experience reconciling financial data across systems, and be detail oriented, courteous and helpful when interacting with customers.
