This position will be at Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be located at 1659 E. Elm St, Jefferson City MO 65101.
- Provide assistance with managing and monitoring the division operating budget
- Review, research and analyze expenditure and encumbrance data
- Monitor budget to actual reports, personal service (seasonals), expenditures and coding used for payment processing
- Assist with tracking fiscal notes received and prepare response
- Attendance tracking and reconciliation
- Develop process and training for staff regarding budget monitoring and reconciliation
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Budget Administration : Knowledge of the principles and practices of budget administration and analysis; including preparing, justifying, reporting on, and executing the budget; and the relationships among program, budget, accounting, and reporting systems.
- Accounting : Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods
- Attention To Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
- Self-Management: Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or finance or other closely related field and 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education and experience).
