    Job Location: Central Office, 830 MoDOT Drive, Jefferson City, MO

    This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $56,712.48, and a senior starting salary of $61,249.44.

    The maintenance operations specialist provides operational support in the management of the roadway maintenance program. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.

    MoDOT will bring candidates onto the team as entry-level, intermediate, or senior level, based on your skills and experience. This opening is for one of our CAREER-LADDER positions which offers the opportunity for career advancement without having to participate in the competitive selection interview process. As you continue to learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, you can be promoted to a higher-level position.

    • Supports maintenance staff in developing and revising maintenance policies, and Engineering Policy Guide procedures and guidelines, state fair activities, coordinating fall maintenance meeting activities and assisting with the statewide equipment sharing.
    • Assists in the analysis and preparation of maintenance related reports, maintenance contracts, benefit cost analysis, correspondence, records, presentations, and assists with managing the Maintenance Leadership Academy (MLA), snow academy, innovations, pilot programs, and MoDOT EOC.
    • Inspects field operations, work zones, buildings, communications networks, and road conditions and issues, and assists in the preparation of related recommendations, correspondence, and reports.
    • Supports the bridge inspection program, as needed.
    • Supports the preparation of plans, TMA transition plan, Telematics (Geotab), driver behavior/safety, RWIS stations, specifications, and estimates for roadway maintenance contracts.


    All you need for success:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree: Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field.


    Or

    • Six years of highway maintenance operations experience.


    Special Working Conditions:

    • Remote work location from any MoDOT facility may be considered.
    • Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment.
    • Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
