This position will serve as the centralized resource for employees with regard to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and will be responsible for performing various duties in support of the administration of FMLA policy.
- Track monthly FMLA usage for all institutional staff.
- Review requests for FMLA, determines eligibility, send appropriate paperwork.
- Review medical certification and recertification paperwork for accuracy and completeness as a backup to the FMLA Manager.
- Ensure compliance with state/federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Communicating information to the requesting employees and other appropriate staff.
- Provide status reports on FMLA usage, and notify supervisor of observations and/or concerns.
- Assist with the review and revision of department policy and procedure.
- Some travel required.
- Help conduct FMLA Supervisory training.
Minimum Qualifications: Three or more years of experience as a Human Resources Assistant within the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System:
ORFour or more years of experience, relevant/similar to the above listed job functions in personnel administration/human resources.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university, that includes earned credit hours in business/public/personnel administration, industrial/labor relations, psychology, statistics, or closely related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for listed experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: - Knowledge of state/federal FMLA laws.
- Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in processing employee requests.
- Ability to communicate effectively, and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems and improve process.
- Ability to handle stress and calmly deal with issues that arise.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Computer skills.
- Knowledge of SAMII HR is preferred, but not required
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
