Acts as an assistant to the manager in the operation of a large laundry

Supervises a major section or several phases of the operation of a large laundry operation, or directs all phases of a small laundry operation; plans, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff, and/or resident or offender workers

Operates and maintains washers, dryers, and ironing equipment; instructs and supervises others in the safe and proper use of materials and equipment; maintains production records on work scheduled, in progress, and completed; requisitions supplies and materials required for the operation of the laundry

Performs minor repairs and adjustments to laundry equipment; reports major faulty equipment to appropriate staff; ensures proper washing formulas are used; maintains standards of safety and sanitation in the laundry area; supervises the cleaning of work areas and equipment

Receives general administrative direction; work is reviewed for quantity and quality of production; performs other related work as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Two or more years of experience relevant/similar to the above listed job duties; AND, possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency

Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager
