This position will be located at 2155 N. Westwood Blvd., Poplar Bluff, MO with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Southeast Regional Office, Water Section.
The Clean Water Unit in the Southeast Regional Office strives to protect environmental quality in 25 counties in the Southeast Region by helping people and organizations use our natural resources responsibly to make a direct impact on Missouri’s Water Resources Quality. The position will perform technical work implementing the Missouri Laws and Regulations to evaluate and determine environmental compliance related to Clean Water.
- Perform inspections, investigations, and compliance assistance activities at wastewater facilities using knowledge of the laws and regulations to determine if facilities are operating in compliance.
- Communicate by means of written reports, telephone, email, and other electronic means.
- Implement policy and rules concerning wastewater facilities. Provide feedback to management and the Clean Water Unit to communicate how well policies are working based on field observations and suggest changes in their development.
- Respond to other duties as assigned, including infrequent response to environmental emergencies.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license.
- A bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline; preference towards environmental, biology, chemistry, or geology degree with 0 - 2 years relevant experience. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
