Job Location: This position will be located at 912 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City in the Emergency Response Center

This position serves as an Emergency Response Center (ERC) Duty Officer for the evening shift (4pm - Midnight), Monday through Friday. The ERC serves as the centralized coordination point for all DHSS responses to emergencies, both natural and deliberate. If this sounds interesting to you, the Public Health Emergency Response Center (ERC) is looking for someone who communicates well, has the ability to make quick decisions and strong computer skills to work as a Duty Officer in the ERC!
- Monitor day-to-day emergency preparedness of the public health and monitoring systems;
- Answer the Public Health Emergency Hotline;
- Follow established policies and protocols, including appropriate dissemination of information;
- Maintain ERC computers and other equipment for 24/7 operational readiness;
- Maintain ERC manuals with accurate and updated information; and
- Coordinate and schedule quarterly notification drills.
Minimum Qualifications: - The ideal person for this position will possess strong critical thinking skills, high level of commitment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be detailed-oriented;
- This position is part of an exceptional team, but works independently much of the time;
- Proficiency in computer operations is necessary, including the training and use of online software programs and ability to use Excel, Outlook, Word;
- Ability to work flexible hours during emergency events when the ERC is activated or, on occasion, to cover other Duty Officer shifts.
