The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is now hiring for a Registered Nurse III - Specialty Critical Care who will serve as a Charge Nurse in the Burn Center. Under direction, plans, assigns, directs and reviews the work of professional and technical staff engaged in patient care at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center on a designated shift; performs related duties as required.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process : Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical and verification of employment history and education.

License/Certifications: RN license, and Basic Life Support, and depending on the area of assignment, additional certification(s) may be required and must be maintained throughout employment.

Work Environment: Requires lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance, and carrying of up to 50 pounds. The work environment may involve exposure to assaultive and combative patients.

Shift Availability: ARMC is a twenty-four hour facility; applicants must be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays . Shift differentials are provided.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess all the following:

License: Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience as a licensed registered nurse in which three (3) months must be in a Burn Unit.

Certification: Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must possess and maintain the following unit specific certifications/courses required to work in the Burn Center :
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Critical Care Certification
  • National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Dysrhythmia Certification


Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field and at least one (1) year of experience working in an acute hospital in a Burn Unit.
