Tax Season Assistant - Business Tax (Temporary)

Department of Revenue

Hourly Salary: $ 16.31

Location: Truman Building - 301 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO

HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

Our team focuses on processing motor fuel tax returns and documents in a timely manner. We are team oriented, goal driven, and value strong communication and typing skills, as well as problem solving experience. You will work in a friendly environment with a full-time weekdays only work schedule with the possibility of becoming a permanent employee.

DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

Review motor fuel tax returns to ensure necessary information is included
Complete data entry tasks to input tax return figures and taxpayer information
Research and error correct motor fuel tax returns to ensure timely processing
Correspond with both internal and external customers about tax processing
Assist taxpayers with filing issues and promote electronic filing options, via phone and email correspondence

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 16 years of age
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Proficient typing and computer skills
