Salary Range : $4,610 - $6,556/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary: $4,610/Monthly)

Work Schedule : Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; temporary appointment, expires on or before one-year from date of hire; may be extended, may become permanent; exempt classification.

Essential Functions : Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Enrollment Management for the College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE}, the Admissions/Enrollment Specialist will work as part of the Enrollment Management Team to assist and provide administrative support to prospective students with the admissions and enrollment process for the College of PaGE. The incumbent will assist in all areas of the application process to garner completed application files prior to enrollment, including corresponding regularly via phone, virtually, and email with applicants regarding missing application materials, updating applicant files within their specified timeframe ensuring a high level of customer service. Additionally, assists prospects, applicants, and students in understanding and completing matriculation, transfer requirements, admissions, university policies and procedures, registration, deadlines, course planning, and graduation requirements. The incumbent responsibilities also include student advising, participating in advising workshops, engaging in e-advising, assisting with enrolling students in the appropriate PaGE program and/or services, advocating the needs of students, and providing support to the following special programs (Open University and/or Univ 9000). Other duties include participating in college-wide activities such as student orientation, outreach activities, and other PAGE and campus events involving community and educational partners. The Admissions/Enrollment Specialist will keep current with university policies and procedures and provide input during department meetings as requested.

Required Qualifications & Experience : Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate by phone and email. Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize work; develop and maintain database systems; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; exercise tact, courtesy, alertness, and good judgment when responding to others. Must be able to multi-task, complete assignments in a timely fashion, and work under pressure. Must be computer literate and be proficient in standard word processing and database software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must possess excellent organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; and have an understanding of standard office procedures. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications : Graduate degree from an accredited university. Academic advising experience with lower and upper-division courses. Previous experience working on a college campus. Familiar with GET/PeopleSoft, or other university operating systems. Knowledge of general university policies and procedures.
