Summary SUMMARY OF POSITION Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to supervise, direct, and manage street and maintenance crews and the operation of heavy equipment. Participates in establishing traffic control devices such as signs, barricades and cones. Guides traffic safely at work sites. Schedules excavation of utility water cuts and calls appropriate 811 line locates. Performs preventive and simple corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment. Responds to emergency situations after hours or on weekends. Assists personnel under charge in all facets of task performed as needed. Collects appropriate fare from passengers and accurately completes corresponding paperwork for each fare. Checks passenger passes to confirm they are valid and current. Transports collected fares to Transit Office daily. Provides information regarding the City's Public Transit services including schedule and route information Prepares accident reports and various other reports required by federal and/or state regulations. May respond to medical situations and administer first aid in emergency situations, including proper cleanup and disposal. Notifies 911 for emergency medical response as necessary.
