POSITION PURPOSE The City of Westminster is seeking a compassionate and collaborative librarian who loves working with teens and adults! The Librarian I - Teen & Adult Services position is responsible for creating and delivering innovative programming, providing reference and readers’ advisory to all ages, and supporting outreach efforts. The Teen/Adult Services Supervising Librarian regularly works the information desk, provides outstanding customer service, answers an array of technology and reference questions, and creates engaging displays to highlight the library’s collection. This position is also responsible for collection maintenance, staff scheduling, and supervision of associates. Responsibilities • Plans, coordinates, and manages the daily maintenance, discoverability, and access to the University Library’s electronic resources and collections in Alma and Primo VE. • Assists with the management of two FTE ERM staff in the CARDS department in collaboration with the CARDS Unit Head and provide coverage as unit lead when necessary. • In collaboration with the CARDS Unit Head, Collections Team, subject librarians, and other Library units, supports electronic collection development by creating and analyzing usage reports for electronic resources and conducts research on new electronic resource products and services; make recommendations and contribute to data-driven collection development and budget allocation decisions or other data- and product-analysis projects. • Provides leadership and expertise in the management of electronic resources configuration for Alma, Primo VE, CDI, EZProxy, and other ERM-related applications. • Leads electronic resources troubleshooting efforts in collaboration with the CARDS Unit Head and Library Technology Services (LTS) Unit. • Participates in licensing agreement interpretation and licensing workflows. • Monitors emerging trends, technologies, and current issues in electronic resources management, including open access and open educational resources, data ethics, copyright, publishing, systems, and other related areas. • Participates in the activities of the University Library such as the planning, development, and assessment of the Library's services, operations, programs, policies, and initiatives. Qualifications Required qualifications: • At least a Master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association, or equivalent degree • A record of scholarly and professional achievement appropriate to an appointment at the rank of Librarian • Substantive experience for a minimum of five years as a library administrator or manager • Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of constituencies • Ability to be an effective spokesperson, and a strong and supportive contributing member of the University’s leadership team • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in a diverse campus and community setting • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred qualifications: • A doctorate in library science, management, higher education administration, information science, or a related field • A deep understanding of the challenges facing university libraries today • Knowledge of information and scholarly technologies and their successful integration into a library and campus • Demonstrated successful experience with fundraising Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule • Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits. • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $195,000 to $210,000 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
