DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The Police Records Lead is the advanced journey level civilian classification in the Police Records series. A typical combination includes: Education and/or Experience: Graduation from high school; and three (3) years of general clerical or records management experience. Police records experience is desirable. Licenses and/or Certificates: A valid California Law Enforcement Teletype Systems (CLETS) certificate is required within three months of employment. Incumbents in this series report to a Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor or Behavioral Health Clinical Manager. Behavioral Health Clinician II is the journey-level class in this series. Incumbents in this class are licensed clinicians and perform duties involving considerable latitude and independence of judgment under minimal supervision. Behavioral Health Clinicians II may provide direction and assistance to Behavioral Health Clinicians I and graduate interns. This class is distinguished from the next higher class of Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor in that the latter class has supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Either I Experience: The equivalent of six-months full-time satisfactory experience in the Behavioral Health Clinician I classification in the Alameda County classified service. (Non-classified includes District Attorney's Office, Hospital Authority, and the Consolidated Courts.) Or II Experience: The equivalent of six-months of full-time post license experience as a behavioral health/mental health clinician providing clinical and/or case management services. AND Education: Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited school in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, nursing or related field. License/Certification: All incumbents at the Behavioral Health Clinician II level must possess a valid clinical license from the applicable licensing authority: California Board of Behavioral Sciences, California Board of Psychology, or California Board of Registered Nursing. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent AND completion of the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (P.O.S.T.) Basic Certificate. For specialty assignments, completion of all required training and certification related to the special position assignment. Candidate must be currently employed as a sworn Police Officer and have passed probation in their current agency. In addition, applicants must meet the following criteria: No more than 20/100 uncorrected and 20/30 corrected and freedom from uncorrectable color blindness. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be 21 years of age or older at time of appointment. Must have a valid California Class C Driver License, acceptable driving record, and evidence of insurance. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law. Must be of good character and reputation. May undergo a psychological assessment by a qualified professional to determine their suitability for the position. Will be administered an integrity test and a polygraph examination. Will undergo a complete, comprehensive, P.O.S.T. approved Background Investigation. Will be fingerprinted and records checked in both State and Federal Bureaus. Must not have a record of conviction of a serious offense, or numerous convictions of minor offenses.
