In addition, Hospital Plant Operators evaluate operating systems, make adjustments, troubleshoot repair activities and assign work to other maintenance division staff. The medical center has a Nonstructural Performance Category (NPC) rating of 5 and is designed to remain self-sufficient for a minimum of three days after an 8.3 magnitude earthquake. A Structural Performance Category (SPC) 5 rated acute care hospital, ARMC is in compliance with structural provisions of the Alquist Hospital Facilities Seismic Safety Act, capable of providing services to the public following strong ground motion.
