The Department of Public Works Fleet Management Division is recruiting to fill multiple Equipment Mechanic Assistant I/II (EMA I/II) positions. The EMA I/II is responsible for performing inspections, communicating with other staff and customers, servicing, installation of electronic electrical equipment, ordering parts, entering data in the fleet management system, road testing and diagnosing problems to make various repairs and adjustments on automotive, heavy truck and/or heavy equipment. Special Notes A valid Class A or B Nevada commercial driver's license is required within six months of the date of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Special Requirements Incumbent is required to furnish their own mechanic's tools. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. In addition, federal law requires random testing for controlled substances during employment. A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
