Description The Department: Public Works The Department of Public Works is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of public streets, sidewalks, curbs, storm drains, street trees, medians and traffic signs/markings. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS I This is the entry and first working level in the Accountant class series. Incumbents perform a variety of accounting and auditing work requiring some knowledge and background. II Two years of increasingly responsible fiscal management experience comparable to that of an Accountant I with San Benito County.
